What Do I Recycle?


Most items accepted for household recycling are the same regardless of the community.  However, there may be slight differences in communities with wheeled carts; call or visit your community's website.  All communities with blue bins accept the following:

*NO OTHER #1 or #2 plastics such as margarine, veggie/fruit basket containers, yogurt containers.  ONLY #1 & #2 bottles, jugs and jars accepted.
*No wrapping paper or gift bags accepted; may dispose of in trash.

Need a Blue Bin?

For residents in our blue bin program, free replacement or additional bins are available at several locations throughout the County:

1) Your local Town, Village or City Hall
2) Recycling Drop-Off sites (see below)
3) The Materials Recycling Facility in Waukesha (220 S. Prairie Ave)
4) Retzer Nature Center

Additionally, free recycling bins are distributed in many communities at special events.  Check Upcoming Events for schedules.

Drop-Off Sites


There are 20 convenient community recycling drop-off locations for residential use.  Residents are encouraged to call their  hauler or community for bulky and special items.                                              For a list of drop-off locations, click here.
