Mukwonago Park is nestled in the southwest quarter of Waukesha County on C.T.H. LO (entrance location), approximately 3 miles west of the Village of Mukwonago.
Park Amenities
This 355-acre park site includes a high ridge, formed during the last glacial period, which stretches nearly the length of the park. Park visitors of all ages will be delighted to discover the park's commanding view of the rolling terrain and farmlands typical of southeastern Wisconsin. The oak opening ridge is covered with presettlement vegetation including Burr Oak, Shagbark Hickory, and ground cover of prairie plants. While strolling through the Oak Savannah ridge, you may spot a Red-tailed Hawk or Turkey Vulture, a known specie to this park's habitat.

RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
Swimming: The 1.2 acre spring fed swim pond with sand beach and the beach house are open when swimming is available. Please see our Water Quality page for daily beach availability - http://www.waukeshacounty.gov/defaultwc.aspx?id=40458
Picnicking: Come for a quiet picnic at one of our family picnic areas or reserve a picnic area for your family reunion or business party.
Fishing: Mukwonago Park contains two spring fed ponds that are ideal for a family-oriented fishing opportunity. You can catch Bass, Bluegill, Perch, or Crappies from the shore or on the large 15.5 acre pond in a non-motorized watercraft. We encourage and support the catch and release of fish, so that many people can enjoy the excitement and thrill of catching fish from the pond. Please note, a fishing license is required in all Waukesha County Parks.
Camping: Come to the park during the day and stay the night at either the 6 reserved group camp sites or pop your tent at one of the 30 sites in the first come, first serve family camping area. Picnic tables, a firepit and outdoor restrooms are available.
Archery: Get ready for hunting season by using one of the archery ranges with targets and raised platforms.
Geocaching: Try your hand at a high tech game of treasure hunting using a GPS to hide and seek containers with other participants. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups and is a great way to enjoy the outdoors.
Nature Hiking: Experience the natural wonders by hiking the nature trail which offers different levels of difficulty for all hiking or walking enthusiasts. Enjoy cross country skiing or snowshowing the non-groomed trails during the winter season.
Sledding: Bring your kids & your sleds for a great winter experience - sledding!
Picnic Areas: Reservation Request
Four reservable 20' x 30' covered shelters with cement base are available throughout the year with water (may not be available during the winter months), electricity, outdoor restrooms, large grill, and sand pit volleyball w/net and picnic tables.

The recreation center can be rented for day and overnight use in the off season (Nov. - Mar.) This heated facility has refrigerator, stove, soda machine, hot and cold water, sink, electricity, indoor restrrooms, 6 - 6 foot tables and 40 chairs. Capacity 50/25 overnight.
