INFORMATION AND REFERRAL

The Department of Health and Human Services contracts with the Mental Health Association of Waukesha County to provide a “blended” helpline with trained Telephone Counselors available 24/7 to provide crisis intervention, emotional support and comprehensive information, and referral telephone support. The Mental Health Association of Waukesha County can be reached in two ways: By calling 211 on the telephone or via the Internet by clicking on 211/First Call For Help.

In addition, the Department of Health and Human Services provides intake and non-clinicial assessment services for a variety of human service programs. This service is to protect the health, safety, and well-being of children and to provide support, counseling and other services to children and families to ameliorate the effects of child abuse and neglect.

  • Child Abuse/Neglect Investigations
  • Custody Intake
  • Juvenile Court Intake and Custody Intake

Fees are charged for some of these services. Where applicable, such fees are computed according to state ability to pay guidelines.
