CERT Training
Waukesha County began offering Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training sessions in the last half of 2007. CERT training includes basic disaster preparedness and response skills to help people protect themselves, their families, and their neighbors following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. Training sessions can be arranged for businesses, church groups, neighborhood groups, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, civic organizations, or any group of interested individuals. This training is organized and scheduleded by COAD (Citizens and Organizations Active in Disasters) staff. COAD is an association of individuals and organizations in Waukesha County, Milwaukee County and Ozaukee County interested in disaster preparedness and response. You may access its website here. If you are interested in this training, please visit the COAD website. A calendar of upcoming CERT courses is available, and you may register online.
